Starting with IELTS Writing
- The lowest IELTS score is almost always for writing. This has been confirmed in many studies around the world. Therefore, you should first start your writing practice.
- Start by writing an entire essay and then check it out with the links below.
- Then practice individual skills before writing an entire essay.
- Writing will be the most important skill that needs to be improved for IELTS and you will need to analyze the skills by skill and improve each one before working on your entire essay.

- Now that you know that writing is the most important thing and you’ve got some practice, what follows?
- I would recommend that you study the sample answers in more detail first.
- Pay close attention to the structure and then you can focus on the vocabulary and grammar afterwards.

- This is a really important question and it will determine how you study.
First of all you need to know:
- What score do you need?
- When do you need it?
- What is your score right now?

- If you need your score very soon and you are close, then you can study for IELTS using online resources.
- If you do not need your score for a long time (it does not matter if you are close or far from it), then you need to focus on long-term goals.
- Be careful not to make the mistake that many students make: do not spend years studying IELTS while your band score remains the same because your English is not improving.
Study Consistently Rather Than in Big Blocks
- Research has shown that it is much more effective to study a little consistently every day, rather than sometimes studying in large squares.
- Consistent study, even less than an hour a day, can dramatically help maintain memory.
- Therefore, try to study every day!
- The best way to do this is to connect it with a habit you already have.
- Try to study immediately before or after your coffee in the morning, before going to work / school, before or after dinner, immediately after brushing your teeth at night, etc.
- Make it a habit and follow it consistently!

- This is important because it will force you to study consistently, motivate and make sure you do not waste time.

Identify your Strengths & Weaknesses
- It is significant to improve on your strengths and weaknesses.
- In my knowledge, 90% of IELTS students have the identical weaknesses: writing work review 1, writing work 2 basic ideas development, fluency and pronunciation, reading T / F / NG and listening to multiple choices.
- Most students need to focus on these areas.
- Your weaknesses may be different, so you should seek outside advice.
Develop your Speaking Skills
- Speech is another area that poses enormous challenges for students.
- You will often find that your speech lags behind your other abilities.
- This is because speech is fast and requires practice to exhaust all the words you can read and hear when you speak faster.
- It is also very difficult to improve compared to other skills.
- If you do not have a partner or class to work with, you need to be creative with different methods.
- If you study exactly the same way every time, then your progress will be slow.
- You have to change it – think of new ways!
IELTS Speaking Resources
- This comes from the four areas in which you are noted: fluency, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation.
- The following is an explanation of each of the band ratings you have noted:
- Flexibility: how fast do you speak, how hesitant (use um / uh) or pause, how often do you use words like “like”, how much do you correct yourself, how much do you repeat yourself, if the answers make sense, how long do the your answers
- Vocabulary: range (many different conversations, phrasal verbs, expressions) and how accurate (correct) they are, you can paraphrase
- Grammar: range (how many different types of compound grammar you use) and how accurate (correct) your grammar is, how much you repeat the same structures
- Pronunciation: how easy it is to understand all the sounds / words, the stress of the words, the stress of the sentences, the sound, the bold, how natural you sound.
Improve your Listening
- There is a key difference between learning the IELTS listening format / test and improving your actual listening skills.
- In order to improve your hearing, you need to find motivated listening sources and listen again and again.
- This is why students who enjoy YouTube and watch movies or listen to music have very well-developed listening skills.
- Practical tests are not always useful – they are only for learning the structure of the test and occasional practice.
IELTS Listening Resources
- To get better you’re listening and get ready for IELTS, find stability between IELTS and other resources.
- I would always recommend that after listening, you go back, read the script and point out the answers you made wrong.
- Find out why you got a wrong answer and then try to develop this ability – it can be vocabulary, a word pronunciation, a test trick, a difficult synonym, etc.
Improve your Reading
- Improving your reading and improving it for IELTS is the same problem for reading as listening.
- Don’t focus too much on only side.
Find a balance.
- To read, focus on the types of problems that are causing you the most trouble.
- The most valuable information you will receive is the answers you received.
Find out why.
- Was it a vocabulary? Gram grammar? Or the type of question?
- Then use this knowledge to direct your studies.
If you have difficulty with vocabulary, learn more vocabulary.
- Do not just repeat the practice test after the practice test because you will only test yourself and you will not develop your skills.

- Do not neglect other reading sources!
- It should not have to be just information.
